Good evening my fellow ficoers,
So I recently logged into my Macy's account online and received the popup invitation to upgrade my Macy's store card to the Amex version. I didn't upgrade immediately because I wanted to make sure it wasn't a hard pull and also wanted confirmation that my account history would remain in tact. After I called and was told the answers I wanted to hear, I logged back into my account and the invite vanished! I spoke with the credit department and they assured me my account is eligible. It seems like a tech issue. I'm told it should reappear soon. I'm impatiently waiting! I'd much rather have the Amex version!
So tonight I figured why not try for an increase while I'm waiting for the popup to re-appear. My limit before the call was $15,000. I called up tonight and initially asked for a $10K increase but then I asked for $5K instead. Instantly approved. New credit line is $20,000. Not bad for a Macy's store card. Maybe I should've kept to the original ask of $10K?? 
. It was a soft pull and the only question asked was how much I wanted to increase the credit line to. I'm guessing I can call back for another increase once I actually get the Amex upgrade!
