Macy's from $600 --- $5000 in THREE MONTHS!

I applied for the Macy's card back in October, but the approval wasn't instant, I needed to call in to a representative. Approved for $600!

I waited 31 days like the poster's have been saying, but it didn't work for me. I got the "Denial Letter Notification" each time I requested a CLI, so I stopped trying and assumed I was bucketed at $600. After my 3rd statement cut last week I tried one last time, this time instead of the instant denial letter, I got a prompt asking me to call an "800" number. I called on Monday, and the rep said it was not going to be a credit pull, and asked how much I would like. Assuming no matter how much I asked for it woud be a denial, I said $5000. Approved $5000! 

Maybe I'm not bucketed after all. ♥

Hi @toi34 , Congrats on your Macy's CLI 🎉

I do not think they bucket like Cap1 does.

When you ask for a Macy's CLI, always ask for $8-10K. (I asked for $18K one time) ,

the most I was granted on either of my (2) cards was an $8K edited: for $7.5K increase.

They will counter offer what they are willing to grant you. No harm/No foul.

Congrats on the CLI! I just requested mine yesterday for the first time and went from $800 to $6000.  I requested $5,200 to round off to $6000 and was instantly approved!  I'll typically ask for $5000 each time and see if that works each 31 days.
