I joined NFCU in 3/2017 and applied for a credit card and was denied even on recon. My income is ~$13,000 monthly. I was advised to open a secured card and after 3 on time payments i could be considered for an unsecured card.
For background i had a 584 TU FICO when i applied with 4 charge offs (~$30,000) from 2014 reporting.
I opened a secured card on 3/30/2017 with a $1,000 deposit. I have charged $7,000 through that card and paid in full since and today i applied for CashRewards and was approved!!! For $7,000!!! My TU Fico today is only 608 and i still have the charge offs on my credit report.
I am so excited i can't believe NFCU is so amazing! Only 68 days since i was denied and opened a secured card to instant approval for $7,000
