I called up and was approved for membership today and wanted to get a credit card with them.
I was approved for their Platinum card at their best rate of 5.99%
My DTI ratio is very low (14%), my income is around 160K and they pulled TU which has a Fico8 score of 782.
The person who took my credit card app was somewhat shocked but said it probably had to do with being a brand new member.
I wanted to use this for a large BT since the card has no BT fees and 0% for 12 months.
I was actually hoping for about 10K
Would a Recon call be in order?

Congrats. It's normal for the first card to have a lower limit. You can call or send them a secure message to reevaluate.
If you App for the 2nd card after 91 day's, you will likely see a larger limit

It never hurts to ask. However, if you try the 91/3 method then you can request a CLI and you will likely get a large SL on that second card and this can be done on the same day. Also, use the card as much as possible in the meantime and show them that you are active spending money on it.
