NFCU CLI cashRewards

Funny story behind this card, I didn't need to get a secured card.. but I did because I wanted to use that to force myself to garden and it worked! I already have a More Rewards Amex with a $7k limit that is 10 months old. I graduated in June, got my $200 deposit back, limit was increased to $2,000. I decided to let another statement cut before asking for a CLI. I was skeptical because last week, I asked for a CLI for my Amex from $3,000 to $15,000 but it was countered with $7,000 with the letter stating i've reached their maximum unsecured limit. I was bummed out, but I saw others getting a minimum of $500, and seeing that it's a soft pull- I said why not.

It went into review Friday night, I cringed and said "whelp, I gave it my best". Didn't hear anything, no emails or anything.. logged in to check my checking account balance and decided to take a glimpse at my credit limit on the cashRewards card and I be danged.. they increased it to what I asked.. I kinda feel bad for not asking for more? I know shoot for the sky, but seeing my above statement- I was hesitant. Heck, I was afraid of getting shut down lol. They increased me to my full request of $5,000. I should be getting my Signature card in the mail soon. I'm also syked because this is right before my report updates!

So there you have it. I opened a secured card to garden, made the minimum $200 deposit, waited a month (5 total thus far) after I got the auto increase to $2,000, month 7 I asked for $3,000 more and got it. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with me carrying a large amount of my money in their flagship checking, share savings and interest savings accounts (~$80k). I also have around $10k in certificates.

Congrats @Anonymous . Me love me some NAVY.

If you don't mind me asking, what happened in January 2020 to drop your score to 593? And then how did it shoot up to 787?

Didn't see that until you mentioned it would be interesting to find out myself too especially since it was only a month of time hope OP answers.

Great question! Before I dropped down to my current 13 accounts, I had multiple AU accounts. I submitted documentation and after 30-60 days, they were removed from all CRA's. Two of the cards were at 99% utlz and 87% (so 99%).

At first, I thought having AU's would help, but it was actually hurting me.. especially with the account owner maxing out their cards. In January, I was like.. enough.. and put an end to it.

This is the megathread walkthrough: https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/SmorgasBoard/THIS-IS-HOW-YOU-ADD-CREDIT-CARD-PICS-TO-YOUR-PROFILE/td-p/2262839

This is the short version: https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/SmorgasBoard/Signature/td-p/5445341

Essentially the template is:

<img src="[REPLAC-WITH-IMAGE-HOSTING-LINK-INCLUDING-THE-BRACKETS].png" title="[TEXT-THAT-SHOWS-WHEN-HOVERING-OVER-IMAGE-REPLACE-INCLUDING-THE-BRACKETS]" height="50" width="70">

Should look like:

<img src="imgur.com/fdg564dfg.png" title="Amex Gold NPSL $4,500" height="50" width="70">

I recommend using Imgur for uploading credit card pictures then copy and paste the link in between the quotating marks " ". For title if you hover over my credit cards in the sig that is what you will see when you put something in title I had to hard code each of them by typing it in between those quotation marks " ". Height and width should be self explanatory basically the yare the size of the credit card image or whatever image you uploaded.
