So after much deliberation and a few well timed "balance transfer" checks from Barclays, I'm finally in with NFCU's GoRewards card!
Instant approval online and I can finally get my higher interest personal loan payed off and utilize the 15 months zero interest with this card! After that, I'll probably move the money around and get lower interest with my DCU Platinum and Barclay Ring both around 8-8.25%!
Some background for those who care - I had/have a Prosper Personal Loan at about 17.8% interest. I transferred $10,000 from my DCU Platinum card to my checking account, and just received my Barclays balance transfer checks for my Ring card and wrote myself a check for $6700. As soon as I got home from depositing the check at the bank I applied for the Pre-Selected offer I've had for a couple weeks, put the necessary balance transfer information on the application and got an instant approval for $22,000 with APR at "Prime plus 6.24%"
Would I be wrong to assume that means Prime is 9.74% and add the 6.24% on top of that to get 15.98%?
All in all I'm pleased and have my first official Signature card from a bank!!
Overall total credit lines now up to $123,774 and 13% utilization
Credit scores at time of application: EQ 767 | EX 779 | TU 781 Income: $50,000
This is quite a weight off my shoulders as now I believe my overal credit profile fits my score and will continue positively in the foreseeable future!!
