On Friday, 11/12/21 I asked Navy Federal for a limit increase of $8000 on my More Rewards card. As of yesterday 11/18/21 I hadn't heard anything back from Navy Federal. I called them and was told I was denied. I had asked at 6 months exactly to the day of my last increase (it had been 183 days). I read a comment in the Navy Federal thread that for some it now takes between 186 days up to 190 days to get additional limit increases. Coincidentally yesterday was day 190 since my last increase.
I was gonna wait on the denial letter to reapply but after already waiting 6 days for a decision I thought why not ask again since it'll be a soft inquiry. I requested my $8000 limit increase again yesterday at 10:30am. I checked my account every few hours off and on yesterday and this morning when I woke up, again at 8:43 am, still nothing. Just checked it again at 9:30 am and saw my increase had been granted! This is my 4th increase on this card and across all 3 Navy Federal cards this makes increase number 9. With this increase I have now reached another credit milestone, $200K in available credit!
What a difference 2 years can make. August 2019 one of my Fico 8 scores was at 583 and I had $10,200 in available credit but was using 100% of it. Started to rebuild that month and 2 years plus later I reached a milestone I couldn't even imagine reaching, $200K in available credit and less than 1% utilization used!
I'm grateful for how far I've come! Thank you to this great forum for all the knowledge I've acquired from reading posts and having my questions answered!
