So I've been rebuilding for 14 months now. Got some decent cards along the way. I had been in the garden for months while building up steam, but I had been reading around here about the generous lines people have been getting from NFCU.
So I got in (via the NLUS-SD path) and applied for a GoRewards as soon as I was accepted as a member. Happy to report that I was approved the next day for my now-largest limit. Not as large a limit as some of you are getting, but I'll take it, and grow it when the most egregious of my baddies falls off in February. It's nice to know that there are people out there willing to extend credit when others are not.
As an aside, I didn't join NFCU just for the card -- it's actually a convenient credit union with closer branches to my home and work than my current credit union. So this is win-win for me. I may move my auto loans over there as well when my profile improves enough to truly capitalize on it.
Congrats! NFCU is great!

Congrats OP , mind sharing some data points for other to use . What was your SL and scores and UTI at the time of app?
SL 6500, they pulled TU which was at 672 at the moment of pull. UTI for bankcards was at 29%, which is temporarily higher than usual and would have been back down to around 20% had I waited another month to apply for the card. Retail UTI was around 14% for an overall UTI of 23%.
My plan is to wait three months, have UTI stupid low and old baddies aged out, and try for a CLI. Should be a piece of cake. Waiting on reimbursements, bonus and other gravy between now and then.
I balance transferred one of my cards during the application. First time I've ever done a BT. Felt like such an adult.
Congrats! Good timing, too - they're having a 20000 bonus pt w/ $3000 spend offer right now!
Congrats on the approval! I got the same card with the same limit last week. I decided to go for the GoRewards because of the sign-on bonus they currently offer.
Congratulations on a good choice CU and the approved card.
Don't sweat the start limit for awhile either, look at my scores.
NFCU started me out at $4K this summer and 4 months later blew the lid right off
Welcom to NFCU. It's a great CU and love them. I have the CashRewards Visa Signature. And I am using this card quite a bit (along with Discover). Check out the Member Mall. There are some great deals in there.
