Closed on my Discover card last year when I only got approved for a $1000 credit line.
Recently got an offer in the mail from them to apply for a new Discover card. Wanting to round out my wallet with a Discover card again, I decided to take the offer. was approved for $3,000. Disappointing seeing as my average credit line is $19,000. I heard allot of people getting increases every few months after there first year, but wanted to see what peoples experiences were with getting increases before the first year?
I've been pleased with Discover and the CLI I've received. I started off 2 yrs ago with a $1500 limit that has now grown to $6500, that's with keeping a balance on it almost the entire time too! (I had 0% interest for the 1st 18 mo) . I've received 2 auto CLI and 2 website request increases. Just read on here the other day about a guy who has grown his limit with them to over $40K!! Don't think you'll go wrong keeping the card this time
I kept it the first time and used it allot for a year. After the 12 month mark I had spent on a $1,000 limit $18,000 and they would not budge on the limit so I said bye bye. Its been now 6 months and I got a mailer from them for a new discover IT with double the rewards for the first year (standard promo there running) and I did like the 5% catagories so I decided id give them another shot.
I will also say that when I had a discover in college they started me out with $3,500 and years later they still wouldnt budge so I closed them out back then to.

Congrats on the approval, this card will grow very soon.
Awesome card and CLI are soft pulls. I have read people on here hitting the LUV button every 90 days. I recently got this card and it was the largest SL to date.
Congrats!
