Average Joe? Cant spell or write proper sentences, really? Your saying all the negative stuff on your credit reports is from 10+ years ago? It shouldn't be on your report anymore then...
Op, congrats on your approval. Be good to Navy and they will be GREAT to you. Make sure you pay them on time and don't get in their bad graces. Good luck!

Congrats on the approval! So exciting!!
I can't help it but to point out that although you were successful in obtaining a new card and more credit, what makes a "success story" meaningful is the responsible credit use behind it. As you've' outlined multiple failed limit increase attempts, even one of $100, and then on to a new card, I don't see any proven responsible use. Me thread bombing with a "congrats" would be very insincere. My intent is not to be negative or mean, but to encourage responsible credit use which is the principle of these forums.
Loccstar74, as everyone else has said here, welcome to the forums! With that being said, try not to take the commentary here personally. 90% of the people come here to read advice and get advice. It's very educational and provides a lot of resource for folks. When someone lends you a word of advice here, it comes from a good place. These folks are just trying to be friendly and encourage you to do good for your financial future.
No one here is purposefully bringing you down and if they are, it's not done intentionally.
Your defensiveness however is going to bring you criticism. Telling people that they 'don't understand' and to 'quit it'. Stuff like that here is only going to get you negativity. Again man, this is an extraordinarily friendly and helpful place to discuss credit. Be positive! We are here to help...
First of all you're on a public forum. You are putting your story out there for others to analyze and judge if they choose. The comments that were made by members of this forum were in no way meant to be deragotory/put you down. More over the intent was to give contructive criticism to help you on your journey back to good credit health. You're being overly sensitive and taking comments sent your way in good faith to help you and spinning them into drama. Just stop already, take a deep breath and take it for what it's worth or rethink posting your life in a public place.
