@dcp0524 it's indeed the last negative item. I'll be happy with even just having a clean report after so many years of baddies. The past 3-4 years I've really fixed a lot of mistakes that I hope to never make again.
thanks for the insight!
Update: the collection fell off both EX and TU today, EQ has yet to update. Slightly disappointed there wasn't move movement upward in my scores, the only thing now I can do is be patient and let my current accounts age, while getting my overall UTL down as low as possible. Definitely a bit disappointed that a clean report still has these low scores

What does it say are the factors holding you down? If you have clean file and some seasoned accounts, you should be higher than that. I have several charge offs on my Experian report, and my FICO 8 is still 683.
Congratulations on the Nordstrom CLI!
Update: I called and asked for 10k, they put me on hold and came back with an approval. Officially hit the 10K mark, now I feel pretty confident about being able to apply for the Visa - I don't think I need to get any higher on the retail LOL
@RehabbingANDBlabbing reasons are:
- too many new accounts
- balances are too high in comparison to CL (all of them combined are about 30% UTL, working on getting this down)
- too many recent inquiries (again these just have to age off)
I have 1 30 day late, and 1 60 day late that are 4+ years old before my rebuild, maybe that's holding my scores down. Those will fall off in 7 years? Right now I'm not worrying about my scores or new credit too much - goals are low debt and no new accounts until I'm in a better credit range (680-700)
as of today my Fico 8 scores are:
EQ: 649 TU: 646 EX: 642

Congrats on the CLI to $10K.
One thing that you mentioned upthread is regarding a 'clean report'. Unfortunately, based on what you just recently shared above, your credit profile has not achieved a 'clean' scorecard yet. The lates, in addition to the other factors you mentioned, are what is holding scores down. And, yes, the negative marks remain on CRs for 7 years.
So as not to derail your CLI thread, you can start a separate thread to track your rebuild progress in the Rebuilding Your Credit subforum, unless you have an active thread there already.
@FinStar - thanks, clean report refers to not having any collection accounts. Unfortunately 2 late payments from 4+ years ago, there's not much I can do about that but wait until they stop reporting.
