So... someone should handcuff me to stop app’ing, but I’m getting better accounts and scores are increasing all around... so maybe it’s okay.
App’d for PNC like 2 weeks ago on a whim. No prior relationship w/ them. Figured what’s the worst that could happen 🤷🏼♀️ A wasted inquiry... got the 7-10 day letter message.
Fast forward 2 weeks. Got a letter over the weekend saying more verification was needed and I had 10 days to respond.
Called PNC, and after a ridiculously long hold I spoke with “speciality underwriting” who verified my phone number via text. Came back approved for $5k SL. 👍🏻 Said recon for more wasn’t really an option at this time unless I had new info to provide (like more income)
They pulled Experian - latest Fico8 is 722. Util about 38%. Paid about 39% of installments balances. 9 inquiries (now 10). Last late payment was 2 60d and 2 30d lates 48+ months ago. Lots of new cc accounts in last 2 years (considering oldest account is nearly 20years, AAOA is prob real low... maybe 3-4 years if I actually calculate it).
Thought PNC was picky and difficult to get into. Maybe I was wrong.
I know I’m not always perfect with all my credit decisions.... but feeling pretty accomplished increasing my score 200pts in the last 2-3 years or so, especially after a huge job loss in 2014 and nearly facing foreclosure and doing a loan mod in 2015.
Time to lock myself in the garden and hide a the keys!
