Opened an account a couple years ago and put $5 in the checking. Haven't received an offer from them in two years, and have no products or loans with them.
I got an email out of the blue this morning saying I was pre-approved, but no code to redeem or anything, so I was skeptical.
Anyway, I applied and was instantly approved for $10,000 SL, which is my largest starting limit of any credit card by far, ever. I'm an AU on my fiance's cards with higher limits, but nothing over $2,500 in my name alone. Big milestone. This type of limit will help me get in with Chase, which is my goal.
The card is Power Cash Rewards. APR doesn't matter because we PIF every month but for a DP it's 16.99%.
My Fico 8 score says 672 today, but PenFex pulled my Equifax at 651. I have a dozen late payments from several years ago, and 2 accounts in collections (small $$ amounts). Currently working on eliminating the late payments and collections which should help me tremendously. Only cards in my name are Quicksilver, Amex Optima, Discover IT, and DCU. I'm AU on my fiance's Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Southwest Visa, and Citi AAdvantage. Believe my total available credit is $40,000 (Now $50,000). Income last year was 100k, fiances was 80k.
Goal is to get approved for CSP by myself, fiance gets referral points, I get signing bonus (we already got it for her CSP) then use those points for a heck of a trip. I'd like to be a Chase customer on my own, not just as AU, as well.
