I been a PenFed member for 5 days and I am happy to say I was approved for the Platinum Rewards Visa Signature card. I opened initially a free checkings account and a free savings account. I put 50 in the checking and 5 in the savings. I was preapproved for their personal loan for 20k. I figured if I was approved for that and I wasn't a member (received a preapproval in the mail), then maybe they will be willing to grant me a credit card. The site timed out while running my credit but I did receive an email immediatley saying I was approved and my credit limit was 7500. I then called and asked for them to use the same inquiry to apply for the cash rewards card, which the rep did for me and stated it's under review....so just waiting to see if they will give me that card as well.
