So, I have had only one credit card for the past 15 years, a USAA Rewards Card with a 17.5K CL. Some background/details: I have had a savings account with PenFed for over two years, so I'm sure that did not hurt my chances. When I applied, they did their standard Equifax hard pull and my score came back as an 802. I usually keep my cc utilization between 5% and 25% and I didn't have any other credit inquires in the past two years. I have a healthy amount of open/closed accounts (20+) but only three active ones for the last 5 or so years (two mortgage and the one USAA cc). I do have one "baddie"-- a single thirty day late, but it was six years ago. So, that one is about to fall off in about a year, but it technically is still on my reports for now.
I was surprised to be issued a $20K CL! More than I expected.
Congratulations on your PenFed PCR approval!
Excellent SL, grats on the Power Cash approval

It all depends on your credit seeking goals.
The length of PenFed membership may have helped in your situation. Some members have dipped their toe into the pool for a second card.
Since you are with USAA, have you considered becoming a member of NFCU?
Congrats on your PenFed Power Cash Rewards approval
