Thought I would share. I'm not military but in July of 2019 I was approved by a Prosper for a $10,000 consolidation loan. Somewhere during that online process a window popped up with an offer to join Penfed. I accepted. I bought a $1,000 CD and started a $100 a month savings alottment.
For the past 6 months or so I've been getting pre-qualified offers. I was looking for a lower apr so I apped and was instantly approved for $20,000. This is my highest SL. They pulled Equifax and came in at 721. No baddies, hard pulls have dropped to about 8 from a high of 19. I make close to 90k. And the 14 apr is second only to my credit union 10.
