Penfed Promise Approval for $8000!

I took the plunge and applied for the Penfed Promise, and got a $8000 SL. 

I'm a little bummed since I have about $7000 I'd like to transfer over from other cards, but that would eat up too much of the $8000.  I did transfer $4800 over, but completed the survey they sent me asking if I could perhaps get it bumped up a bit higher.

Congrats on the approval! I was just approved for the PCR card, but the limit is terrible..$2.5k. I haven’t received a survey yet. How long after approval did you receive your survey?

Starting-Over2013, they actually sent me the survey yesterday since I opened my account just the other day - I don't know if they send a different one after applying for credit, but I guess I'll find out!  I decided to fill it out with my question about the credit limit either way - or I can fill out both if they send another to have better odds. 

I hope you can get a better SL too!  It looks like your own scores are actually a smidge better than my own.

Congrats on ,to me, an outstanding limit. PF has been the heel on my Credit rebirth story, alas they dont like low incomers but I am always glad to see others success with them

I hope you can get it eventually! I’m just coming out of gardening after several years myself, thanks to my younger self having no knowledge of or respect for good credit. 😅

Oh, i got it alright, they gave me a $500 sl and after a year had to claw and scratch a recon for a 1k increase. It is now my lowest limit card and ive given up any hope of any future increases or cards with Penfed. It seems if you dont make a bajillion bucks, they dont wanna play nice lol. Now thats just my experience and feelings so of course you may read a counter but PF blah blah .... we all get creditors who just dont like what we offer but its great when one works out

Oh, that sounds like me and BoA! They had me at a low limit forever - then raised it to $1500, then $5000 just this week (and refused to budge on the apr). 😑

That’s the main reason I went for the Promise card even though BoA had better offers. Didn’t want to risk them to give me a lower limit again!
