I requested a CLI from Wells Fargo for the first time today and I'm posting to share some data points. I have the Propel card which I opened in May 2019 with a $4K limit. They've never given me an automatic CLI. I have no other accounts with Wells Fargo.
Called in using the number on the back of the card. They don't have a way to ask online. If you call it's a soft pull unless they need to do some sort of extra evaluation. They will tell you if they will need to do a hard pull before they proceed to that and they ask for your permission first. (Of course your mileage may vary).
Requested an increase to $10K not expecting that much because only I spend about $150 a month on the card.
Approved for $1K increase bringing limit to $5K.
I'm happy with the result because $5K is what I consider to be a prime credit limit.
My Experian Fico 9 (the score Wells Fargo provides with this card) was 761.
4 Experian HP's in last 12 months, 1 in the last 6 months.
6 new accounts in the last year.
2 new accounts in the last 6 months.
My reports were not locked.
So far no HP.
