Re: Question about BCP cli upon activation with a high starting limit

I'd go for $25 or $30 if you believe your profile supports it. I went to $30k on a Delta AmEx with no issue. I hit a doc request when I first tried to go above $35k in total exposure, but I ignored it and waited, did another CLI request a year later and am at $40k now between two cards. The $25k thing isn't a real/hard limit, so go with what you think is reasonable.

Re: Question about BCP cli upon activation with a high starting limit

I don't think I've got the courage to ask for $30k and I'd have no reasoning for needing that much aside from FICO swag, but that's okay. Smiley Happy

20k+ is just one of those goals I've been dreaming about since I started the road to awesome credit and I'd be completely happy to retire my LUV button finger (sike) if and when I reached it. Who knows, we humans always want the next best thing. Smiley Wink

Re: Question about BCP cli upon activation with a high starting limit

I've had my BCE just shy of 60 days and wanted to see if someone can clear this up for me.

So can a CLI  be requested 61 dys after actual approval for the card, or 61 days after activation ?

After doing extensive research of my own I've narrowed it down to the opening date. The moment your screen said "congratulations you've been approved" is when the ticker begins.

If you get turned down for less than 60 days you don't have to wait 90 days to try again. Technically you were not denied as they didn't make a credit decision. On the 61st day you can try.

Re: Question about BCP cli upon activation with a high starting limit

Well, Myfico peeps, I pushed the LUV button after a day of analyzing every aspect.

I requested my credit limit to be increased from 16,000 to 25,000. I hit submit request then my screen pulls this number "internet connection lost refresh page or check internet connection..." or something to that effect. I was like whaaaaaa? "why does this happen when my heart is already palpating." I refreshed the screen thinking "the internet just screwed everything up."

I refreshed the screen and saw (not verbatim) "Congratulations your request for a limit of 25,000 has been approved and will be updated in 15 minutes.

Clicked the home page and it was already sitting there. I finally did it. I got my 25k limit that I've worked so hard for all these years. I don't think I will be asking for anymore CLI on this card and will just let them auto increase me if they're feeling mighty generous.

What a wonderful feeling. I have myfico forum to thank for my credit journey these past four years or so. Smiley Very HappySmiley Very HappySmiley Very Happy
