As I wallow in the garden, CAPTOOL's and JamP's success with SP CLIs + APR reductions on their Sallie Maes encouraged me to try as well (thanks for the inspiration, guys!)
I wasn't that hopeful that it would work since I checked just last month and wasn't eligible. Luckily, this time, when I called the number on the back of my card, a very friendly-sounding CSR answered and transferred me immediately to an equally friendly account specialist. She lowered my APR from 18.24% to 14.24% and also offered me a $1000 SP CLI, taking me from $2700 to $3700!!! Woohoo! Thank you, Barclays!!!
Incidentally, just a few days ago, I requested a CLI on my Amex SPG, which I was approved for in March with a whopping $1000 limit. I pushed the luv button and went for the 3X CLI and was instantly approved for it, taking me to $3000!!
I'm so close to 100K I can almost taste it!!!
