Many members have had success signing up for a membership and while doing so the CSR will tell them they are pre-approved for the card and what limit they are pre-approved for. The CRS that I had at the store didn't seem to know anybody ever got pre-approvals. Its still qustionable whether it is a hard pull or soft pull.
Was still excited to be approved in about 30 seconds after I completed the paper form and the guy typed my info in.
