Savor One Approval 20 months post BK7

Hey folks

As the subject line states, I am 20 months post-BK7 and was just approved for a Cap1 Savor One card with a CL of $10,000. I was a bit hesitent applying for it but it made sense financially due to my lifestyle of going out for lunch/dinner a few times a week.

A little backstory to put everything in perspective, I filed for BK7 due to DW's six figure medical bills due to Leukemia. Prior to this, I took a 75% pay cut to make sure I would be able to go to the hospital every night and would not have to travel for work. I made it about a year before I started to seriously consider BK due to the massive debt that was piling up.

Fast-forward a bit and I was approved for my first CC about 3 months post-discharge. It was a Cap1 QS1 with a CL of $1750. I used it heavily and PIF a few times a month. After about 6 months, I was given an Auto CLI to $6,500. I have been using this card pretty hard for about a year or so but I have been denied CLI's. I also try and make sure that I am carrying <10% when my statement cuts.

While 1.5% cash back on all purchases is pretty nice, I spend quite a bit at restaurants throughout the month an after doing a little math, it was obvious that the Savor One was superior. While both the Savor and Savor One both show as needing 'Excellent Credit,' I balked and chose the Savor One purely because I thought I may have a better chance at it (I have nothing to back that up with).

To summarize, I am 20 months post-BK7 discharge with a UTL of <10%, a DTI of 21%, and annual income of approx $117K.
