So honestly I had no intentions of applying for any new cards until April (my last mini spree 2 cards 1charge was October). I planned on getting Platinum and the Aspire.

I’m booking flights for work and noticed the companion pass offer and It was ending early February. So I pulled the trigger ofcourse last Friday. After applying I wasn’t immediately approved and I instantly started to regret applying and was full of the “bad butterflies.”

My credit score had dropped 45 points due to my Amex having 86% util. I balanced transfer almost everything to that card no fees and 0% until 2020. All my other cards have 0 or very low balance 9% or less, two cards are at 20%.

My message said my application was under review and they would get back to me in writing. There wasn’t a timeline of 7-10 or 30 days. I researched online and didn’t see anyone having this message and I’m like oh no super denial and all my other cards with chase might be in trouble.

I patiently waited the weekend out called recon on Monday. They said I needed to talk to verification team. I was asked numerous verification questions. After about 5 minutes the rep advised I was approved for $7700. Ugh I couldn’t just get 8k or really like 10k but that’s a good limit I suppose.

I’m super juiced. I fly southwest a lot. I take a weekend trip twice a month (most months)somewhere in the states. In addition, The company I work for has a business contract so that is all we use. I typically use southwest on my personal flights so I feel the card will be useful. Many options flying out of SF or OAKLAND. Now I’m just planning how to get companion pass for 2020.

Oh, btw I’m currently at 4/24 with this card.

I only complain about the SL because typically with Chase where you start is where you end unless you apply for a new card and move balances. I’ve heard it but I know it’s rare to get a CLI w/o hp.

Congrats on the approval, better spend quick and get that companion pass . I agree on the SL, some folks recently have been getting Auto-Luv from Chase after the 4th or 5th statement, I however, just passed a 5th statement with no luv. Expect nothing and hope for the best!
