Hello to everyone,
I was recently notified by a CRA that
my Citi Macys Amex was chopped in half to 12.5K
Havent used it in over a year. That got my attention.
I went to the website and asked for it all
back, because it never hurts to ask.
Started filling out the CLI request
and put in 25K desired new limit and it says no dice.
Then I look and says read document.
I did and they said they would give me 24K.
I thought losing 1K in credit stunk.
Then I realized that to get to 25K I had months
worth of 2K CLI's so getting 11.5K CLI maybe wasn't
that bad,but it still bugged me.
That happened two days ago and today I was sitting in
bed when I spilled my coffee from my nightstand into
the open drawer below. As I was trying to sort out the soggy
stuff from the dry things I noticed an orange card,Home Depot,
with the sticker still on it that tells
you to call to activate.
Well I knew it was activated, but had a less then desirable
1K limit, so I had never used the thing and it had made it's
way into the bottom of my drawer.
I then went to the website and, after several tries guessing
my password, applied for a CLI from a citi card I have never used.
I put in 4K as desired CLI,
I now realize this was a mistake as it was instantly approved,
left some on the table.
So in the course of two days Citi took away 12.5K
Then gave back 15.5K.
I'm calling that good Karma
on some bad spilled coffee :-)
No hp's
*Update* Citi did pull my credit, luckily it was my best one Equifax,Fico8 794
Cheers

Thanks for the post @TekkenQQ7
Really appreciate it. As far as you accepting 4K from Home Depot....you haven't applied for credit in two years and that's what they gave you. Probably won't get any higher of a SL.
They did pull Equifax for my CLI just so you know that to. Could always see what Synchrony would give you on a Lowes card on their pre approval site. That card grows like a weed 😉
