I suspect that's for a couple reasons:

1. Aside from the SUBs, their cards aren't particularly competitive.

2. Given the impending merger, people are opting to apply for BB&T's cards since they're only doing soft pulls (AFAIK, SunTrust is still doing hard pulls). As a SunTrust customer, I did exactly this.

Congrats. It was great the first year for 5% gas and groceries for me. Doesn't get much use now. Used it more for a credit building bank card.
