Hi every one!
It's been a while since I've updated the forums on my credit journey.
Since being approved for the DiscoverIt last July, I haven't applied for any new lines of credit. I've gotten one credit line increase on my Discover card (8,000 to 9,600), a few credit line increases on CreditOne (starting limit 300, now at 750), and my CapitalOne Quicksilver and QuicksilverOne have gone from 300 to 500 and 300 to 400, respectively.
Yesterday I started tinkering with preapprovals and got several from American Express, Citi, and Bank of America. Since I don't currently have a card specifically for travel and I live in a city where the airline market share is dominated by Delta, I decided to accept the Gold Delta SkyMiles offer from American Express. I was so nervous about applying and my heart was literally in my stomach waiting for a response. Lo and behold, I was approved for the credit card with a starting line of $1,000! This is my first American Express but I have been an authorized user on one before. I'm incredibly excited to spend $1K and receive the 35K miles welcome offer.
For people wondering about my score profiles: CreditKarma/CreditSesame/CreditWise/CreditOne have me at 679 TU, 615 EQ, and 655 EX. I have no idea how reliable these are.
Now that I have the Delta SkyMiles, I feel pretty content with my collection. I tried to justify applying for one more card last night and I really couldn't. My plan is to continue using my cards responsibly and watch the credit lines grow until I get the urge to apply to the AmEx Platinum or another tip-top tier card.
This forum has been a wealth of information! Even though I rarely post, I enjoy lurking and seeing all of your CLIs, approvals, and learning from y'alls experience.
Cheers!
Congrats!
Congratuations and Enjoy your new Amex Delta card! Have a great flight! Oh, and teriffic job with the Disco card limit too! Well Done!
congrats...
Congrats and welcome to the AmEx family! Enjoy the new card.
Thanks for this insight!
I'm wondering if you have any suggestions for the most reliable place to use to get accurate score updates?
I mostly rely on Credit Sesame / Credit Karma / and the score reports that Capital One, Discover, and Credit One generate.
Congrats
