I unknowingly apped for a Synchrony card (long story, I take the blame). When I received the account information I had a $4500 SL.
Created an online account, apped for CLI (requested 8000)- Denied.
A week or so later, while having a couple of adult bevvies and reading around the forums here, I decided to app again.
I requested 5000, was given 6600.
I then requested 8000 and was given 8800.
I then requested 10,000 - denied.
Requested 9,000 (at least a round number) - denied.
All in all, I'm happy, because it dropped my utilization across a threshhold (I thought I was apping for a loan to finance something, not a revolver).
I'll try again next month
