I opened my target card in 1999, it was the 2nd credit card I applied for in the week I turned 18.  Started at $200 and went to $300 sometime in the first year and to this day thats where it sits $300.  I went through Ch 7 in 2001 and ch 13 in 2007, I never had a balance on the card at those points so it was not included in either BK and

You filed BK twice w/in 6 years? I thought once you filed BK you couldn't do so again for at least 10 years ? Just curious . . .

Re: Target CLI

You can only file chapter 7 every 7 years and it stays on record for 10.

you can file chapter 13 every 5 years and it sometimes comes off at 7 or 10 years... think it's 10 now.

The only reason the 13 was filed is because of multiple realestate dealings through an old company I had worked with and they of course went bankrupt so it forced me to file to protect my other assets.

Re: Target CLI

I haven't had my card very long (since Oct 2012) but i called just to ask how the CLI's work.  The rep said that they don't take CLI requests by phone because the accounts are automatically reviewed every 3 months for CLI's.  He said that it is more likely to have a CLI when the card is used frequently.  I clarified with him - not a balance carried, but a frequently used card.  Hmm, I'm sure I need something from Target tonight...  Smiley Wink

Do people really spend more than $200 on a single purchase at Target?

Sure, but that is not the point.   If you shop reguarly and usually PIF by due date, you need  a minimum CL of 2 X monthly spending to not go over your CL.

Re: Target CLI

I used to regular charge $100-200+ a month out of a $300 cl and pif-never got a cli!!!!
Interest was like 25.24%.
Sorry, but that screws up my utilization. I closed mine within a year due to no clis; I don't even care about that 5% discount. I'll just shop at Whole Foods, Kroger, or if I get desperate: Walmart LOL
