Target RED Card Approval after BK7

I was just approved for the Target RED card with $300 CL. This is my first unsecured credit line since bk, never had RED Card or TD Bank products. I currently have Capital One Secured (1k), OpenSky ($200), and USBank ($1k). Also have SelfLender secured loan. All of these were done a few weeks before discharge. USBank and SelfLender are not reporting yet. They pulled TransUnion and my score was 555 on Fico8 (Bankcard Fico8 - 560; Bankcard 5,4,and 2 - 597; Fico Bankcard 9 - 573). Bk discharge was 11/27. I have been very aggressive with my rebuild mainly bc my income (just started new job at $80k) allows me to. Hope this helps!

Welcome to the myFICO forum! We're happy to see you! Smiley Very Happy

Super Congrats on your Target RED card $300 SL!

You should be commended for being so aggressive

with your post-BK7 rebuild. Time will be your greatest

ally, so the sooner you start the better. Smiley Very Happy

BTW, Target/TD Bank also offers a Target Mastercard.

So with daily proper care and feeding of your RED card,

don't be surprised if TD Bank offers to upgrade you within

the next 12 months. Just pay on time and watch more doors open. Smiley Very Happy

BTW, thanks for sharing that TD Bank pulled your TU file.

Other recent RED card approvals here in the forum have

been on an EQ hard pull. This is why it's so important that

you shared your data points. Forewarned is forearmed. Smiley Very Happy

Congrats again on your Target success. Thanks for sharing! Smiley Very Happy

Re: Target RED Card Approval after BK7

Congratulations on everything you have accomplished! This is helpful to me as well. I should be discharged end of this month but Target was IIB sooooo....probably won't be seeing that particular approval if ever.

Re: Target RED Card Approval after BK7

Target often takes time but it will grow. I didn’t have a BK when I got it, just poor scores. For the first 2.5 years it stayed at $300. I used it a lot. Then in the next 2.5 years leading to now it has gotten 6 auto CLIs and now sits at $2900. Use it and enjoy it and have patience. It’ll be rewarded.

Smiley Very Happy The Target MC is offered by Invite only, and some folks even with good scores, still havent received the invitation yet and its been a few years or more, so its not a guarantee anyone will. Also, the card doesnt need "daily" grooming. Just regular monthly use, small or large, and PIF after statement cuts its the key. You dont need to max out the card in order to show use and history. Also, update your income monthly, even its theres no change.
