I had intended to garden until December this year but went for CLI and didn't realize it was HP (don't remember who now). So I decided since July was ruined I may app. I was at Toys-r-Us to get a shower gift, if I apped for their card I would instantly save $14. Apped when pending figured decline but still saved $14, got alert on Sunday new account, yeah I have no children but a Toys-r-Us card. Then I saw on the talk about BEC and figured I'd try. Approved on regular terms only $1000 SL but I know it will crow. Finally been wanting a premium card and was torn between Citi Prestige and Chase Ritz. Even though next year they cut a few benefits from Prestige I apped, declined to many new accounts and to many apps with Citi (3rd) in two months. So then I figured last day of July I'd try for Ritz, this morning I signed into Chase to pay on Southwest, bam new card at bottom, the Ritz. We fly 1-2 times a year so with the $300 airline credit, it will bring annual fee to $95. Never stayed at a Ritz, now I have a reason .
Congratulations on your new accounts!
Nice approval on the Ritz ... Congrats and now you have a reason to visit the Ritz properties more often 😄
Ritz is a pretty sweet card and you can save a bunch at Marriott's. I love it.
congrats

Nice, garden time.
Yes, I think it's time. I'm going to continue pruning store cards, start closing sub-prime, and look at SP CLI for a few older ones. There are a few cards I want. I would like to get in with Citi either DC, Costco, or Premier. Wanted the Prestige but since they are doing away with AA lounges I think the Ritz is a better deal for me. Only other cards in future are Sam's Club Master Card, AMEX ED or EDP, and maybe AMEX Hilton Surpass. Once I get below 5/24 I really want Chase CSP, Freedom and Freedom Unlimited. Okay, that is more than a few, but I'll offset them by closing cards like Marathon Visa, possibly Cabela's depending on who ends up with it. It would all depend on if the card I have now (Barclay for example), start to grow. That's down the road in a year or two, at the moment I don't see cold applying for anything. I'm a little over a year and a half with my rebuild and I have done well with reading this (and a few others, but I get most info and advice from here) forum. I have at least $33,000 in credit cards from major banks (AMEX, BoA, Barclay, Chase, Capital One, FNBO) not including store cards, semi-prime and a few subprime MC/Visas which isn't to bad. It all started with two car loans about a year and half, two subprime cards and way to many SCT cards with no patience (that's finally coming). I would further along if I would have found this forum at the start but I'm learning. Thanks all for the congrats, and info.
