Totally Unexpected Amex Auto-CLI?

So, I really have no DP for this, but I noticed that Amex gave me an auto-CLI on my $10k SL Cash Magnet card. It got bumped up to $22k CL. 

Has this happened to anyone else? I called Amex and asked what happened, and the rep said it was legit. Only thing I can think of is the fact that I charged $9800 to it in a week and paid it off before the first statement. Nothing much else has changed. I didn't even know Amex did auto-CLIs.

I'm not upset, just a bit confused! The card is only 29 days old!

That's great!  I have also been on the receiving end of an unexpected auto Amex CLI and boy what a feeling. I put a large amount of spend on it after a product upgrade and then went on vacation (always PIF)...set me up for a great 3x CLI request the next month.

Congrats on the auto cli!  If I got a major auto increase like that, the last thing I would do is call the creditor and ask them "What happened?".
