UPDATE: PenFed HP EQ CLI

UPDATE:  This was a HP on EQ.  I app'd on a Sunday and it went to UW on Monday for approval.  The HP did not show up until Tuesday.

I have Pen Fed for about 6 years now.  I had 2 CC accounts @$5k each.  I combined into 1 CC for $10K in 2016.  I requested a CLI and was denied because I had too much "available credit" @ ~$200K.  On Friday, I hit the luv button and "sent to loan department for review".  About an hour later I received a message stating "Congrats your new CL is $15,000 ($5k increase).  I was surprised to see there was no HP on EQ.

My EQ8 is 780 and I unthawed expecting a HP.  I had BK7 drop in DEC and INQ 0/12. Normally I would not have bothered but since NFCU did not offer me a BT this year, I need to take advantage of the 0.99% @ 18 months (+3% fee).  I was hoping for $25K but I will take $5K for now.

Questions for you...was that original CLI denial in 2016 and today do you still have a lot of available credit or potentially even more but was rewarded anyway?

Yes.  The original CLI was a denial.  I have used PenFed BT offers every other year to keep them happy.  In 2016, I bought some land and build a small summer home all on 0% BTs and no mortgage.  This year NFCU did not offer a BT so I need to have other options.
