UPDATE: SUCCESSFUL DOUBLE DIP! Discover 3.25x CLI

Got my Discover it Card in August, $1000 SL. 3 months in, luv button gets me $500 increase. Did it again and got another $500 and today I was planning on hitting the button to get another $500 for a CL of $2500. I look and see ‘$2500’ and shrug and am about to accept it when I realize it says an INCREASE of $2500, bringing my total limit to $4500. Heck yes!

Going to call and try for the double dip in a few when I get out of bed lol

UPDATE: Called and mentioned I was hoping for a larger increase (lol) and asked if there was any more they could offer and got another $2000, making today’s increase $4500 for a total CL of $6500. Not bad for a card that opened at $1000 6 months ago! If only my Amex cards would grow lol
Kind of have everything I want now, creditwise. Undeliberately gardening until I have some spending to do and find a 100,000 Amex Platinum offer lol

Started my credit journey August 2016, after abstaining from credit for years after some poor financial choices in high school. Started with scores in the 580s. Current scores 11/6/18 - EQ: 754 TU: 757 EX: 743

Re: UPDATE: SUCCESSFUL DOUBLE DIP! Discover 3.25x CLI

Usage is minimal and only the 5% categories. Last month was about $140, month before was $6. In 6 months I’ve probably put less than $500 on this card. I pay it down to $0 before the statement closes every month. I hear they’re using TU score for CLIs, and my TU is my highest score by a bit at 742.

Re: UPDATE: SUCCESSFUL DOUBLE DIP! Discover 3.25x CLI

Congratulations on the Discover CLI! I am on my 12th Statement with Discover, no balances, always paid in full, acceptable usages last year between 20-25% of my 2.3K limit and never did get any increase from them since Sept. But that is fine, I will take my time with them. Specially with the luv I get from AMEX has me putting the most of my spendings with them. I just thought it was funny to share a totally opposite experience to yours, since you mentioned you wish AMEX had given you some luv the same way Discover did and here I am wishing that I got some of that luv from Discover. Congratulations again!

Re: UPDATE: SUCCESSFUL DOUBLE DIP! Discover 3.25x CLI

Not only have I never gotten an increase on my 2 Amex revolvers, but one of them was CLD from $5000 to $1000! There was no major score drop or negative/derogatory to cause it other than a large app spree. Surprised they have left my $10000 ED card alone when I’ve literally run $100 through it in the year I’ve had it (the BCE used to be my daily driver)

Re: UPDATE: SUCCESSFUL DOUBLE DIP! Discover 3.25x CLI

Lol. Perhaps I should spend less and they’ll give me more. Jk.

I run about $1500-$2000 through it and PIF. So far, my CLI is on the pre-rediscovery @averagejoescredit increase schedule. It’s all good though. I’m in the double cash back stage. They don’t need to treat me any better. I’ll be happy regardless.
