There are cases where a CLI requires and underwriter and is still approved. You said you requested a CLI in October, was that approved? When did you get approved for the card? Was it at least 7 months from your approval to the 1st CLI request?

my last cli was 8 months ago... which got approved tor $4k... I was approved for this card last year in january..

Ok, your SL and CLI goes along with my theory of increases with CL under $4k since it was increased to $8k.

Sounds like your timing is good with this current request and you'll just have to wait and see what happens with the underwriter. I assume you will see a $5k increase if approved. Good luck!

UPDATE:

Actually there is NO update on my CLI even though its been a week. A week ago I requested a CLI on my Altitude Go card which opened last year in January and last and only increase I had in last year October. My CL right now $8.5k...very unusual that my request went to underwritter and its been a week and no answer.

I applied for checking account as well a day later and that is under review as well for the last 6 days...dont know whats going on...no any document is requested...and credit card account was in perfect standings until I requested CLI a week ago...dont know whats going on...Just called US bank and I am told both my applications are under review...even for checking accounts...very strange all these...

Ok...Now here is the real update. I just received a letter from US bank in respect to my CLI request on Altitude Go card. They said that they couldn't process my request because my TU report is frozen but I don't remember putting a freeze in there when CLI requested. Now they stated that if I still want to proceed on my CLI, then I need to unfreeze my TU and call them on the number given on the letter with reference number within 30 days.

I thought CLI is SP...If so, then why they want access to TU? Does it mean they can't get into my report even as SP if TU is frozen? Should I just wait for 30 days and let this reference number to expire and then request again for CLI...Or never mind waiting and apply now again after unfreeze tu??

No any response on checking account opening so far...

@Janneman Request for reports to be unfrozen usually indicates a HP. There are a few reports that if you try again without unfreezing that a SP increase could still happen. You'll have to decided if a HP is worth the risk.

no way ...I dont want a hp...do u think i should try to request cli again while freezing my report? or just let 30 days pass by to start everything again while report freezing?  i definately dont want a hp...

@JNA1 had a similar unfreeze request as you, recently. See here. While this was for an Elan serviced card, it's the same UW team as US Bank. You can try now or wait a few weeks/months. I would wait.

@JNA1 had a similar unfreeze request as you, recently. See here. While this was for an Elan serviced card, it's the same UW team as US Bank. You can try now or wait a few weeks/months. I would wait.

You are right...and I always enjoy @JNA1 postings as they are very informative. But he was talking about Elan card and even though Elan is a sister company of US bank, they always do HP for cli but US bank is not known for hp... so for them to ask me to unfreeze my report is bothering me... something doesnt seem right...its been 9 days and no info imon checking account too...

They don't always do HP for CLI request for Elan backed CCs. This very thread is about a SP CLI on my Max Cash Preferred along side my US Bank Altitude Go. And I linked the other thread because it was also a SP CLI.

And the DPs for CLI are much more aligned with US Bank being YMMV regarding CLIs being HP or SP. There are tons of DPs on this forum. Best thing I tell is you to make the decision you think is best.

I recently got a SP CLI on my Elan MCP card while my reports were all locked. Every other CLI request had come with a request from them to unlock my TU report. This indicates to me that Elan and USB are similar in that they may or may not try to HP any CLI request.

Tnx. When you used to get request from them to unlock your tu report then what was your move? Just ignore it? Then how long after you used to try again for CLI with your report locked? Have you ever tried this method with US bank cards or just only with Elan ones, plz? How many attempts you made when finally CLI approved for you while your TU was locked? Tnx

Its been almost 2 weeks since I tried to open an checking account online with US bank, and there is still no response. I just called them to find out of whats going on...I am told that their system has been messed up and that they are working on putting a better system...until them its manual review of each checking account and 14-20 days is a norm lately to get reviewed on checking account applications that are filed online...Has anyone experienced this or has any knowledge about it?

Yes, I just ignored them. I asked at 3 mos, 6 mos, a year, and finally at 15 mos. 
I have only tried Elan - I have no US Bank cards.
