Congratulations on your approval!!
Congratulations on your approval!
Congrats on the approval. I too was denied after mortgage inquiries and had a successful recon. Same SL too (for AR). It's nice to see US Banks has reasonable underwriters who have the ability to review situations such as these.
Congrats on the approval!

In summary, other than the mortgage app I was in the garden for nearly 2 years prior to the GO app. I got a few HP from the mortgage app, and that was the reason for my denial... "too many recent inquiries." So I called the recon line that I've run across here on MF (800-685-7680), and the USB rep said he would submit to the UW. Didn't receive another HP for the recon (YAYYY!).
Got an email about 4 days later announcing I was APPROVED! SL is only $5,000, but I'm okay with that especially since it is a Signature card. It seems USB grows with you with SP CLI's at the moment, so I'll look forward to those every 7 months (hopefully!).
DP's:
- Pulled EQ, and my EQ 9 was 804 at time of pull
- No prior relationship with US Bank
- UTI = below 1% ($16 / $59,850 CL)
- 4 CC's and 1 AU CC
- 1 auto loan, UTI = 15%
- Scoreable inquiries = 3/6, 3/12 (they are listed as mortgage HP's, so FICO counts them as 1)
- AAoA = 6yr 0m
- AoOA = 12yr 1m
- AoYA = 1yr 10m
- BK7 from 2012
First congratulations on both getting approved for the US bank Altitude go visa and closing on your house. US bank is nice bank to work with least with US bank like some others you can talk to human get another look they see logic not a just black box.
Just Remember credit increase may not always be soft pull, if you need to go to recon then it will be a hard pull inquiry. US bank is very sensitive to Inquirys when going for cli's. This is JMO they first check there internal systems before they try doing a hard pull. I just got 2 credit increases in the last couple of days on 2 US bank credit cards with soft pull only. This is what I would do put lot of spend on the card over the next 2 years before i try going for a credit increase let the inquirys come off. If you still want an increase from US bank then go for it and if you are lucky they will approve your increases with out a hard pull, but if you get denied then you will need to go for recon and that will be a hard pull. Again congratulatios and enjoy your new credit card.
