Earlier this week I applied for a second card from US Bank without first refreshing my memory on all of the ins and outs and rules I once upon a time learned here. The immediate response read something disheartening along the lines of "your application cannot be approved at this time." After a soul crushing moment, I checked here and realized I had made several mistakes in my app, but I also found a recon line (800-947-1444). I called the number and the agent reminded me my reports were frozen. I unfroze and called back, getting the same agent (!), and she re-ran my application. Although she didn't expressly tell me I was approved, she did exclaim "Oh! Yes, everything looks good on our end," and when I checked the next morning, a new line of credit had opened on my US Bank account. Success!
