Decided to try to get a slightly younger sibling to age alongside the Chase Sapphire Preferred that I picked up 3 months ago and build on my United status for an upcoming trip abroad. My Chase banker assured me I was pre-approved for several cards, so I thawed my reports and popped into the branch to apply.
A TRIPLE PULL later, approved for $16,100 with a 22.46% interest rate.
I will lick my wounds and take the 60K-75K miles, but whoa, seeing how as I researched Chase/United in the forums, (and do not remember seeing a triple pull as the price for admission... possibly a double pull with Chase based on geography), I wasn't expecting that at all, so truly when you read YMMV, it is TRUE. Back to the garden I go, for sure, before jetting off somewhere fabulous on United miles, next year.
Scores(at time of application)
785 EQ
761 TU
741 EX (CSP was only pull on 7/11)
Always grateful for the wealth of knowledge and continued support in the forums, I have learned SO much here @myfico.
The triple pull stings some, but you started with decent limit and SUB!! Congrats!!! 👍🏻 👍🏻
WooHoo!! Congratulations on your United Approval!!👏🏼🍾🥂
Congrats on your Chase United Explorer approval
Thank you; yes, it does ease the burn.
Congratulations on your Chase United Explorer approval!
Thank you, very pleased.
Congratulations on your United Exploer approval🎉🎉🎉
Triple pull you say? Damm that would be a first that I have heard of them doing that. I have 3 cards with them and always got a double whammy but never a triple. I hope that not a new SOP for them. Anyways congrats I have that card as well and am enjoying the 10x on gas I am getting right now alongside the 5x on groceries.
Congrats, great card to add, solid travel value for a $95 AF. Checked bag for you and a companion adds up quick, and a couple yearly UA lounge passes are convenient. Hopefully you can check to see if this one gets a 10x offer for q4 too, I've got the 10x on gas for this card.
