Long time lurker here. I really enjoy reading these forums!
I wanted to get your opinion on my chances of apping fot a Citi Double Cash Back.
Some data:
EX F8 769, INQ 1, 1/27
Previous score was 850 before Chase double hard inq on EW and EX.
EQ F8 Unkwn INQ 1, 2/27
TU F8 Unkwn, INQ 0
Previous INQ was in 2018.
I have a total of 3 active cards.
Aggregate Reported Util 1.45% on a TCL of $24,900
AAoA 6 years 7 months
AoOA 17y3m
AoYRA 3 months
Zero lates, zero missed payments.
Most recent opened card was 1/27/2020 Chase FU with $200 SUB.
I used to be a member of Costco which were using the AMEX card. Account was closed / transfered due to Costco changing to Citi Bank. I imagine some of you remember that mess!
I moved to another state in which the nearest Costco is over 85 miles one way. No reason to keep membership up with them anymore.
The Costo Citi card came in the mail which I never activated.
Both Amex and Citi cards are listed as closed by consumer. My credit history is still reported.
Anyone think Citi will hold it against me when they see i had a Citi card when I app for the DC?
I'm sure they could see in their records that it was a Costco store card.
Should be good to go unless there's a bankruptcy or extreme student debt or other debt/income situation. The stats you listed look good for approval and I'd be highly surprised at a denial.
No debt! Income could always be more!
Thanks for your reply!
Any derogs on your reports, even old/paid/closed ones? I apped this past week and was declined for it, and my couple old paid derogs were cited as the number one reason for decline. Your F8s are higher than mine, which helps, although they use the Bankcard 8 score, not the straight F8.
No derogatory item on any of my reports.
Sorry but I don't know what Bankcard 8 is.
Sorry you were declined! You'll get before you know it.
Thanks for your reply!
Thanks, and having no derogs is a big thing with Citi.
Bankcard 8 is a FICO 8 scoring variant. It's based off of your basic FICO 8 score, but tweaked to bias the factors that most affect credit cards (as in downplaying loan performance and accenting performance on your cards). Your scores are solid for sure and with no derogs, your Bankcard 8 scores are likely similar. You should have a great shot at being approved.
Your stats look good! It would be surprising if you were denied!
As Imthedevil says, you shouldn't have an issue.
If you want it, grab it!

I've read Bankcard 8 on MyFico before. Never did know what it was.
Thanks for your explanation and support!

My Experian app says it will update in 4 days. I will wait for that to see what changes if any before apping.
Thanks for your reply.

There's a good chance, they'll pull EQ and not EX. It is a toss up to which they'll pull.
I've had one or the other pulled depending on the Citi CC. So don't be surprised if they pull EQ.
