Update: Approved!! CareCredit

My dog needs an expensive surgery. I was pre approved for Scratchpay but was wondering if I have a shot at care credit. My TU score is 697 EQ is 704 and EX is 672. 100 percent payment history but 47% utilization. Do I have a decent change at getting approved for this card?

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the Forums.  During normal times I would have said even with the high utilization you'd still have a shot at the Care Credit card.  Things are certainly different now but Synchrony tends to overlook what other lenders may turn away from.  With a TU score of 697 I'd think you can eek out an approval but it may not be as much as you're needing.  I have the Care Credit card and it is useful for situations that you've described.

You can give it a try...again, I think you still may get approved the real question is would it be enough to cover the charge you need to put on it. 

Others may chime in with their experience.  Good luck if you decide to apply and I hope your dog gets the surgery he/she needs.

Went ahead and applied and got approved for 5400. Pretty happy with that. 😀
