Big thanks to everyone here.  This forum has bhelped me soooo much in rebuilding.  Just approved for Venture card- $30k SL and the Citi Diamond preferred- $7700.  background as follows:

Prequalified on cap1 site with 13.24 apr and Citi for 23% (previously burned Citi for $25k+ in 2009)

Fico score 710 across all 3 give or take 5 points

Util 8%

Suprised the unpaid 55k CO whomever that is didn't go after you(as that is no small chunk of change), but past the SOL now and should be off reports shortly I suppose.

I was suprised about them not coming after me either! But I was completely judgement proof and unemployed through most of the SOL period and they would've had to take me to big boy court and I'm an attorney so maybe that discouraged them.  Even more suprised it wasn't an issue in getting mortgage a couple months ago.  God bless SmartPath Mortgage!

Congratulations ! And, your right, that's right, that CO is no "chump change " and evidently any CA did their homework before taking a stab at you ! 

I've seen so many folks ( I worked in the court systems ) whom I knew...we're " judgement proof", but never showed up thereby having a default judgement against them. Sometimes,  those amounts were nearly nothing but now , I'm sure, have grown in size ! 

Education is the key !
