Victoria's Secret Angel Card Approval (Shopping Cart Trick)

Hey everyone I'm pretty new here. I've learned a lot from you all, so many on here are very insightful. I don't have any store cards I use other than my Kohl's Card and the limit has been stuck at $300 for about two years so I thought to get a store card I'll use more often. Used the shopping cart trick and was pre-approved for $350 SL. Called before and after mini-app to make sure it was in fact a soft pull. First time ever trying the shopping cart trick was a success!

For reference if anyone is curious I have Credit One - $300 | Capital One (Platinum orignially, upgraded to Quicksilver) $850 | Kohl's Card $300 | OpenSky Secured CC $200 | NFCU Signature CashRewards $10K | Victoria's Secret $350. I have also been using the cheapest SelfLender option since October of 2017. I then have about $15,000 in Federal Student Loans (all in good standing) as I am not yet finished with college.

Credit One - $300 | Capital One QS $850 | Kohl's Card $300 | OpenSky Secured CC $200 | NFCU Signature CashRewards 10K | VS Angel Card $350 | J. Crew Store Card $250

I am concerned about ruining my AAoA as I've had Credit One since 2016 and I have a very thin credit file (I started building credit right at 18 but I am currently only 21), do you think my AAoA will be spoiled by closing Credit One? I have a very thin file I have only been 18 since 2015.

Congrats OP. I luv my VS card. Started from $500, now $3100. I would never ever use it close to that limit. LOL. I request CLI every 2-3 months,  but since you just got approved, maybe better wait for 7-9 months for 1st request CLI.

No, closing the card will not affect the AAoA calculation. Closed accounts continue to be factored into the AAoA calculation until the account falls off your report (typically at 10 years after closing the account).

TCL: $1,450 | AAoA: 7.8 yrs (I can thank my student loans for this) | Util: 62% (high due to charge-offs) Smiley Sad
