I logged into my Walmart account a few days ago just to make sure my payment had posted correctly, and an option to uprade screen popped up. I sit staring at it and wonder what to do, and of course run over here and search through the upgrade threads for information I decided to take the upgrade, kind of couldn't resist. Though my new tradelines have put me in the garden for quite awhile.
From the amount I have read it really seems the upgrade is almost a crapshoot. How I got it when so many other folks with better profiles than me haven't, I just don't understand. Although I'm not complaining!
My limit was $1050, the upgrade said I was approved for $2500. Some of the upgrade threads made it sound like others had asked for more of an increase upon activation, should I try for more?
Congrats on your upgrade! YES, you should definitely try for more - call this number 1-877-379-8173 (GE Credit Solutions). I called that number less than 3 months after I got my card and went from an initial CL of $3,600 up to $10,000 in a single phone call. They are very generous. Good luck!!
Congrats

Grats and go for more on activation, FYI it is a new account opened this month and will not backdate to your store card open date.
GDale: I know, I was hesitant only for that reason. Discover It is new, as well as my Barclay's so this will be the last account for the year likely. Time to let stuff grow.
CribDuchess: Thanks for the #! I will try when it shows up.
Boy people weren't joking when they said this card would grow with you! I'm doing the mailbox sharking now lol
Congrats! Thanks for sharing.

Congrats on your UG
Discover accts will soon be switched over to MasterCard.
"After almost a decade of partnership with Discover, Wal-Mart and its subsidiary property Sam’s Club have elected to enter into an agreement to make MasterCard their go-to payments network for handling all transactions on its store-branded credit cards."
"The full conversion to MasterCard will begin later in 2014, according to the mega-retailer, with new Sam’s Club cards to be issued in June, and rebranded Wal-Mart cards to follow by the end of the summer."

Interesting. So it will be a Walmart Mastercard then? And GE is still the bank behind this card also?
