Weird USAA CLI

So I have 3 USAA credit cards. Applied for CLI on all 3 of them on 9/27 all resulted in just one hard pull. Two of the cards I barely use I received $4,000 increases on. The one I use primarily “preferred cash rewards” was declined. I was frustrated, because they declined it on the card that I’m actually utilizing. I called and tried to reallocate limits in which they told me they couldn’t do. So, I tried again minutes later it was also declined. Yesterday 10/5 I was bored and I was like I’m really wanting this increase as this is the card I use on a daily basis. So I tried again and I was instantly approved by $4,000 also. I was under the impression that I had to wait the 6 months as normal, however it said online that you must wait 180 days from the previous limit increase. My thought was the limit didn’t actually increase so that’s what made me go for it. So I said all that to say that if anyone got denied apparently you don’t have to wait 180 days to try again.

Re: Weird USAA CLI

Congrats on the CLIs!

Yes, sometimes one can get back-to-back CLIs with one HP.

The few items to consider with USAA, one of which you have mentioned, is that no CL reallocations are permitted, no product changes and the current maximum combined CL across all CCs is $50K.

Congrats on the CLI. Yes it's weird, but in a good way.
