I debated and went back and forth on this for months. The Amex Platinum has been a dream card for years but with the high annual fee I was always on the fence.
But with the increased sign up offers, new benefits, the goal to continue to increase my travel more and more and a major purchase coming up, I decided now was the time to take the plunge.
I couldn't get the card match 150k offer to pop no matter what so I went with the RESY offer. (Arguably could be better actually depending on spend) and boom! Instant approval for the Amex Platinum!
125K sign up bonus for 6k spend in 6 mos
15x at restaurants and small businesses for 6 months
Checked and major purchase I wanted to make is good to go (fingers crossed it might even fall under small biz!)
I did the math on all the credits and benefits and it really does work out for me as a great card. The 695 is tough to swallow but when you add it all up, it makes sense.

Congrats!! 125K MR points is a solid offer, certainly with only $6K spend requirement.
You can always downgrade in a year if the benefits aren't there but enjoy it for now !!

Lol, no kidding! BUT, I'm already paying for audible which is now free, 100 bucks from saks where they sell a couple things I buy anyway, 200 bucks a year in Uber/Uber eats, and so on, when you add it up and then factor in the bonuses, it's pretty sweet
