Its a diffrent story that I did not have a SSN (Non-Immigrant in US) back then but the card is reporting to the CRAs. I see it on my credit reports.
I got my SSN this feb and applied for AMEX Delta Gold and was approved with $2000 which is more than enough for me as I am a student.
Still waiting for WF to graduate me and get the deposit back. Its 300 but 300 is like 3000 for students .. LOL.
Tried to call them twice , everytime they tried to get me to apply for a new card and close this account. Why would I close my oldest US card?
Hope they graduate me before I acutally graduate from Grad School;
You are not alone. I opened my secured card back in Jan 2012. Hope we both can graduate next month...:-). They did also give me an auto CLI of 500 this past november. They also only gave me a $5 annual fee on my anniversary date instead of the usual $25.
I hope so. Fingers Crossed. I havnt got any CLI (I mean I dont really expect them to give a CLI on 300 .. LOL) or reduced fee .
When I called they said that I will have to apply for cash reward card seperately and they can not convert a graduated card to cash back. I will just get the non rewards version. But you cant trust them, half of the time the CS people have no clue of what they are saying.Irrespective of the outcome I will keep AMEX as primary and WF where AMEX is not accepted.
that is true...i remember a while back i called them and asked them if i wasnt able to qualify for graduation come april can i just apply for an unsecured version the lady said you cannot have 2 WF cards. I told her why? I thought you could but eventually they will close the secured card once you get approved for unsecured card right? she still didnt know what i meant and told me you couldnt have 2 WF cards (i told her i know but i am talking about the secured card and still being able to apply for UNsecured card). She just transfered me to a supervisor and she cleared things up for me...LOL.
