Everything I have read says that it doesn't count towards your credit steps bump

yes, from what i understand it has no affect on credit steps increases. I was super surprised as i dont use this card that often (I use my quicksilver for the cash back daily & pay many times per month) so i was pleasantly surprised!

Niece may not have to wait. I decided to hit the button - just because -  and got a 1K increase. Downside: this is a usless Plat MC about 4 months old, rarely used. It was at the beginning of my re build project. Plan on upgrading it as soon as they allow with QS MC...can I do that, btw??
