I had this card for over 2 years. they closed the account two months ago for no activity and 0 balance. i used it last year. This year didn't make a purchase. they closed the account in good standing with 2k limit. now i applied today and got the same account again with 2k limit.
anybody know how to keep them satisfied??? do you have to make purchases every month, every 6 months?

I was buying those 13 dollar bolts but then didn't get around to using the card this year and they closed both my alpheon and my lexis 4500 total limit between the two. sucks cause i took huge nosedive in usage. definitely one of the more scary banks to go with ha i feel. I just took a chance on seeing if they would remember me today and got approved. a little let down cause of the inquiries but no worries.
@creditgnome I left the card unused for 12 months before I received the letter that the account would close in case it remained inactive.

I double checked this card account right now to see if i got that same letter. my last puchase was 7/8/21. in april, i got an email that said
"they missed me in april. dont forget to take advantage of the lexus persuits card." Then in may, they gave me the letter in the secured messaging saying they looked at my credit report and gave me various reasons for closing it the first time including no usage on 5/22. Then I reapplied yesterday and got the same card with the same limit. I will have to see if I can buy something every six months to be safe or give up on comenity all together. risky to do hard pulls with this bank ha!
Grats on your getting the new account! I suggest using a card every 3-6 months. Some banks say in their T&Cs not using it for 90 days can result in closure.

This type of activity is one reason I erred away from store cards for the most part. From my experience, store cards tend to be more "perishable" than major bank cards. I found cards being closed if I didn't use them frequently, essentially wasting a hard pull and "new account" penalty on my scoring. Grrrr ... 
They can be great for places where you shop regularly even without the card, and especially if the vendor gives special discounts or promotions to have their card. IMO, if it's a place I may or may not walk back into after more than two months, it's probably not a card I want to bother myself with. For example, I have the Costco card but I shop at Costco at least monthly and buy gas there multiple times per month.
I've opend some cards (such as with furniture stores for special financing of larger purchases) that I closed after they were no longer being used, just to avoid the later "surprise" when I went to use them again. That happened to me with some department store cards.
So yes, about once every six months is enough activity for most of these cards to remain open. I've had major bank cards stay open for 12 months or longer with no activity without being closed. (But even for them, having some activity every six months or so is suggested if it's an account which you plan to keep.)

Thanks for the information! Yea I honestly regret doing the hardpull on this one since they're so finicky! No more comenity bank for me I realize. Hoping to get in back with amex after this month! I really need to work on all my cards because lately I just haven't been using enough credit that I am surprised a few haven't closed yet. I apprecite you my friend! Will have to juggle these a lot better and revamp my credit. Sadly, it took a major hit in 2015 and I am only rebounding years later.
