my profile is as follows.
best buy/hsbc card...0/2600
wells fargo visa 180/5000
CU visa 1900/10000
grand total 2080/17600 for a utilization around 11-12%
i just bought my first house with my wife, together, mortgage has been open for 8 months reporting...
never been late with either cards or home mortgage...
when i applied for my mortgage my fico was 760. i maintain its still around there or maybe a little higher. i suspect its a little higher becasue some balances have been paid down and the trade lines have been reporting longer...maybe a slight increase idk....i digress
i am going on my honeymoon. i will bring cash, my wife will bring cash, we will have cash from our wedding, but just as an extra insurance policy i want to get a new card.
most cards offer 0% apr. im not worried with the amount of time. i need at least 12 months, but 18 months or 21 months 0% apr isnt a necessity, although i know they exist, i have been getting offers non stop in my mailbox. im more concerned about the credit limit. im not interested in a 500 card but more on the lines of 2500-5000k limit?!? any advice...anybody on this forum that can look at my profile and earnings and utilization and can recommend a card for this project?!
I have noticed DiscoverIT giving out some pretty high limits lately. Also, you seem to have good/well established credit. I'd say anywhere you apply you would qualify for the limit you'd like. Discover and Chase (freedom) both offered me >15 months at 0% and my credit profile is weaker than yours.
Good luck and let us know what you come out with!
I believe that Citi is known for being generous with limits. I was approved last Aug for a Citi Diamond Preferred with a 723 FICO. I was given 18 months 0% and a starting CL of $6800. No rewards, though, so I don't know if that's important to you. At any rate, since everyone's credit profile is different, this is very much a YMMV sort of thing.

I would say Chase is your best buy as if you don't get the line you need you could always call and recon the credit limit. You can also apply for an increase at anytime, no need to wait 2-6 months. (will be an additional hard pull though)
What is your income? that will play the biggest role
I got a CITI diamond pre-selected in the mail the other day. But staying in the garden,,, oh,, and I should change my tag. It's been a month since DiscoverIT.
+1 for Chase Freedom. 18 months 0% APR that I got last month. They are pretty generous with CL
They know I manage my credit like a BAWSSSSSS
Haha
