@Elizabeth_FICO  The article "Understanding Accounts That May Affect Your Credit Utilization Ratio" is very informative for the average consumer; however, section 3. "Closed Revolving Account With Balances Affect Utilization" is missing a very key part. It fails to state that the original credit limit is discarded in scoring and the balance is now the limit effectively making that card at 100% utilization; therefore, the aggregate utilization will also be high.
