2015 Financial Resolutions

what do you guys resolve to do in the new year?

Me? I picked up a few cards this year and I don't need anymore personal cards. 2015 I'll be more focused on long term financial goals like starting a IRA, continue saving for a house. Don't think Ill get any more personal cards unless it's a business PRG. Take out a 5k personal loan for a beefier credit profile with a real installment loan rather than just a secured one. Possibly join NFCU or Penfed for future loan options and investment products....

Re: 2015 Financial Resolutions

I have all the cards I've had my eye one, so I guess my goal is to garden all year and to build enough confidence to ask for a raise at some point. I should strive to increase my IRA contributions as well.

Re: 2015 Financial Resolutions

No more cards until I graduate (summer, 2016). Take the money I earn next summer, dump as much as I can into my Roth IRA. Possibly trying to see if I can get a student loan at under 5%. Other than that, paying bills.

Shockingly enough, I've never had to do this.

All my raises have been automatic... And our yearly bonus was upped to 10% vs 6% last year. Smiley Happy

Unfortunately our medical plan went to a 80/20 with 2x last year's deductible from a 90/10. Smiley Frustrated

Gardening, no more apps, consolidating credit lines and maximizing rewards.  Of course, this is always subject to change if a great rewards offer happens to come along in 2015.Smiley Wink

Re: 2015 Financial Resolutions

No additional credit cards here. I'm enjoying learning the inns and outs of NFCU member mall and Barclays rewards boost. DCCU is sleeping in my sock drawer and IHG only gets used for hotels. The lack of desire in opening cards actually feels really good. My mission now is to possibly refi my condo and continue saving for a new car.....and more aggressively tackle my student loans.

Nice! I don't get a yearly bonus Smiley Sad

So far I've had a couple automatic raises early on, but it's been quite a while and if an auto-raise doesn't come with this years annual review or something I might timidly mumble a request for one.

Re: 2015 Financial Resolutions

Wish I had the guts to ask for a raise...I work in a company of only a few..the owners pay in taxes what I make in a year (no, no, there is no huge gap now between owners and the minions).

But other goals:

-1 more credit card (probably end of 2015) which would ideally be Quicksilver for the 1.5% back on everything with no FTF

-Open and start putting money into a Roth IRA

-Except for QS, GARDEN

Quicksilver $10,000 | Better Balance Rewards $2000 | Sallie Mae $3500 | Freedom $3500

Re: 2015 Financial Resolutions

Here are some of mine.

Get another CLI on one of my Amex cards.

Have lower utilization overall and get more in that 4%-6% range.

Get some APR reductions on my Discover It card and try again for a CLI sometime next year.

Getting a Chase Amazon Visa card to nearly complete my collection

Close any cards I don't need anymore as fit

Someday have a 10K limit card, I'm hoping to try Diners Club again on my birthday and if not, I guess since Ebates Visa gave me a high starting limit that it might be the first card I have to get somewhere close that kind of limit

Look into some internships
